Obsidian

I've used Obsidian for a couple years. It's a very good note-taking app. Vault (a paid add-on) makes syncing across devices effortless, but other cloud solutions also work. Composing in markdown's fast: your hands never leave the keyboard. It stores notes in markdown, so there's no lock-in: you can open them in a text editor. Once a note is synced to your device, you can reliably get to it even when you're offline. Quirks are in tables (a bit clunky) and the outline (hard to find on phones).

The app is fast, but yikes, this is a barebones UI and it's quite difficult to use and find the notes I want. I hope they can improve this! Also, when you uninstall it, it doesn't uninstall the vault or remove all the files. Now I have several thousand files on my device, even though I've uninstalled the app. To me, that just seems sloppy.

ALMOST perfect. I have been using Obsidian and it's PC version for almost a year and half and I don't know how I could ever go back to writing and note taking without it. However, the mobile version lacks the ability to export notes into other formats such as PDF. If this got added for the android version in the same way that PC can, I will change my review to 5 Stars.
